Most universities in Poznań are taking part in a nationwide programme called Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC), which refers to foreign Erasmus students who intend to study the Polish language before starting their Erasmus study period or practical placement.

Universities' programmes depend on  particular university agendas.

Adam Mickiewicz University runs The School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreign Students, which has a wide range of courses for students, not only for those studying at AMU.

Poznan University of Economics every year offers an intensive, free two-week English-language course for foreign beginners. There are also courses which last the whole semester.

Poznan University of Medical Sciences organises some pre-study curses for its students. There are also Polish lessons for beginners.

The Eugeniusz Piasecki University School of Physical Education in Poznań offers a Polish language course for incoming students to make the adaptation to new environments easier.

Many Polish students offer foreigners the exchange of language skills (lessons of Polish for free in return for free lessons of foreigner's native language).
