The past year in Poznań can definitely be counted as a successful one. More investors saw the potential of our city and decided to develop their businesses here. Let's look back at the key moments of 2023!

A revitalisation project in Poznań is coming to an end and has brought a new shine to the historic streets. Renovations are on a finish line, replaced by modern infrastructure and green areas. New skyscrapers are going up and office space is attracting the attention of more companies. Poznań stands out for the increasingly better quality of life of its residents, which has also been recognised in rankings.

Modern business in a modern location

2023 has brought more well-known investors to Poznań, and these are just some of them! We welcomed companies such as SymphonyAI - Netreveal, Revalize, Promwad and Grace. In turn, existing investors decided to expand their operations. Atotech and OLX have opened a new shared services centre.

A modern business cannot do without a suitable workplace either, and this is what Poznań provides. Another building in the Nowy Rynek complex from developer Skanska has been put into use. The innovative office space has been occupied by leading investors in the Poznań market, such as McKinsey & Company, GFT and Wunderman Thompson Technology. Similarly, SOFTSWISS has relocated its headquarters there.

From now on, a new skyscraper will also be cutting through the clouds over Poznań. Andersia Silver from developer Von der Heyden Group has climbed 116 metres high. The site offers hope for new prospects for entrepreneurs who will be able to visit there in 2025. Waiting for them will be comfortable office space and relaxation zones designed to establish rewarding relationships.

Digital world in Poznań

When summarising the past year in Poznań, it is impossible to miss such an important event as the Pozitive Technologies conference. This year saw the fifth, jubilee edition of the event. As many as 1169 people registered for the substantive event, and the most popular lectures attracted an audience of almost 500. The longest, 273 minutes, was the average time spent on the AI/Data track. The afterparty attracted more than 300 people in Poznań.

There was also a refreshed "Let's play in Poznań" publication. The catalogue promotes the potential of the gamedev and creative sectors in Poznań, encouraging investment and promoting local game studios. One of them, Realtime Squad, also prepared a special experience for the popular computer game Fortnite. The capital of Wielkopolska has been transported to a digital world where you can have a fascinating adventure.

International property promotion

Poznań's presence could not be missed at the key trade fair in the area of real estate - MIPIM. Together with the Mayor of the City, Jacek Jaśkowiak, the team of the Investor Relations Department had the opportunity to promote attractive investment properties on such a large scale. The offer consists of land for residential, commercial or industrial development.

For the second consecutive year, Poznań also hosted the exceptional ImpactCEE conference, the most prestigious economic and technological event in Central and Eastern Europe. During the two-day event, meetings were held with over 600 speakers in 23 thematic areas.
Representatives of the City also participated in a Polish-American technology symposium in Silicon Valley. The event focuses on collaboration between technology, business, universities and cities.

On a local scale Investor Relations Department returned with the educational initiative "SSC/BPO Week". A series of lectures introducing the world of business was organised in cooperation with Poznan companies from the modern services sector and secondary schools.

The best city to live in

This year, Poznań yet again ranked highly in the independent fDi Intelligence ranking "European Cities and Regions of the Future". The capital of Wielkopolska was ranked in the top ten of the best European cities, as well as second in the "business friendliness" category for large cities and seventh overall. Once again, Poznań was recognised for its efforts to attract foreign investment. Also significant is the rating by the prestigious Fitch agency: A-, which attests to the city's financial stability.

The Business Insider Polska ranking was also particularly impressive. The magazine hailed Poznań as the best city to live in Poland! An excellently developed infrastructure, numerous initiatives supporting business development and access to qualified employees make the capital of Wielkopolska a competitive place for investors.

The year 2023 can definitely be counted as a successful one for Poznań. It provided plenty of excitement, attractions, new awards confirming its potential, and also brought the longed-for end to major renovations. These are just some of the ambitious projects and events realised. The city once again proved that it is not afraid of bold decisions and development.
